Nature has always been incredible source of inspiration to many artists. It has been visualised in different techniques, media or perspectives. In this product we combine the experience of the wild and how this influences the creativity in us, in every single person. This can be a true transformative experience.
We start the experience in the late morning – with a short walk to wild forest of Kočevsko. Your guide, dr. Petra Draškovič Pelc will help you to dive into the wildness of the area and to feel a bit of forest atmosphere of Kočevsko. In this 2 – 3 hour long walk you will be experiencing nature, presence of the wild, large carnivores….. All of that can be reflected through your artwork in the afternoon session of the workshop.
After light lunch we continue in the idyllic ambient of old Gottschee setting. At the touch of wild nature and unique cultural sphere, you will be guided by academic artist mag. Karmen Bajec, who will lead, guide and support you for the next 3 h workshop to create art you will admire. We finish the day in a company of good dinner and spending time together.
To realize the program, minimum of 4 people is needed, maximum is 12. If you company has more people, please do not hesitate to write us and express you wishes, we will do our best to make it happen in the most suitable solution.
We prepare the material; you do not need any special knowledge or skills. Just bring your good will and curiosity.

Meet your hosts
Petra Draškovič Pelc is a curious researcher by heart, also holding a PhD in Biomedical science but always very close to the heart of Nature. She is an owner of ARS NATURAE small eco tour agency, but passionate nature guide, forest therapy guide and professional photographer. Most all all, she loves art and loves creating it either through photography, ceramics, paintings.
When she is not in nature with my guests or her family and dog, she love the serenity, solitude, and the light of wild natural places, as well the beauty of Kočevsko, the secret forest of Slovenia, or dreams about the wildniss of Alaska.
Karmen Bajec studied for MA Painter at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana under the mentorship of established prof. Metka Krašovec. She has several experiences in art education with adult and children since 2005. She is qualified for cooperation with disabeled person in the field of culture.
Since 2016 she is an artist tutor of »Painting in nature« workshops and enjoys working with people of many interests. People can discover some peace around her relaxed personality, with the goal to get in touch with the hidden wildlife nature. Karmen is approaching different media and genres to the students that wish to fulfill holidays with good-vibes as well as with painting kowledge of animals, landscapes and portraits. Karmen is living and working at Stari trg pri Ložu near the site of intermittent Lake Cerknica, Slovenia.
The program has been established with the collaboration of LIFE LYNX project who helps with reintroduction of new animals to establish a longterm conservation of lynx in our area. And also with the support of Zavoda Kočevsko and Municipality of Kočevje.
